Now that I have a Barnes & Noble nook, I’m putting up this page to keep all my eBook resources close at hand.

Almost all the vendors above have a selection of free eBooks available for download. In addition to the older works in the public domain, they usually have promotions on a regular basis. Below are sites that specialize in free ebooks.
Free eBooks:
- Your Public Library! (Click on ‘Search for a Library‘ and enter your Zip Code)
- Project Gutenburg
- ManyBooks
- FeedBooks
- Google Books (quality varies)
- SF Signal, Tor.com, Free Speculative Fiction, (other genre sources added as discovered)
Many public libraries lend eBooks to cardholders. The last bullet item lists some sources for free Science Fiction and Fantasy eBooks.

Software:
- Adobe Digital Editions , (essential for sideloading eBooks with DRM!)
- Calibre (Convert different ebook formats to ePub!)
- Sigil (ePub format authoring software)
- B&N eBook Reader, Sony Reader Library, Kindle Reading Apps.
This page will be evolving constantly as new sources take the place of old sources. While I hope this page may be helpful to everyone that stops by, it is designed for my own use, and is very nook-centric, since that is the eReader I own. I do welcome your feedback, especially if you have your own nook resource you’d like to share.
Thanks to Doug_Pardee of the Barnes & Noble forums for links to some of the eBook sites, and all his other helpful posts on the Barnes & Noble forums.
